Has anyone ever done them before? I have done a few on Idolforums and they're pretty fun...

It works kind of like American Idol. Someone hosts, and you pick a person for whom to choose songs (on Idolforums, they're usually past idol contestants, but it would work with any celebrity/singer). You find a song that fits the theme and your celebrity's voice and send it to the host. After everyone gets their song in, the host writes up a performance show (using "judges" like Simon, Paula, and Randy... or it could be anyone) judging on how well the song would fit with the person's voice (for example, you wouldn't pick a heavy metal song for Carrie Underwood's voice, etc). Then, anyone can vote and put the performances in order from best to worst, and there is an elimination show. One person is booted off (like idol), and then there's a new theme each show.
So sign up and we can try to do it. I'm aiming for 12 people. :)

The AbsoluteTRL Redux: Season 1

Hey everyone! I'm your host, Chris! Here are the rules:

1. Every contestant and judge is REQUIRED TO VOTE. Voting will be a ranking from best to worst. I will post a voting form when we have all the character information. ANYONE can vote though, it doesn't have to be someone in the competition :) You may still vote after you've been eliminated.

2. Read the shows! I will be writing all the performance shows out, so please take the time to read them. They will be what you should try to base your voting on (not a preference of which celebrity you like).

3. ONE Contestant per AbsoluteTRL member.

4. You may not choose a song your singer has performed before.

5. Don't complain about the comments and judging. That's part of the game, and sometimes you won't do as well as you'd like.

6. All song choices and voting will be sent to me by PRIVATE MESSAGE (PM).

7. VOTE FAIRLY. Don't vote based on liking the singer or the ATRL member. Vote by how well you think the contestant would sing the song.

8. HAVE FUN.

Hmmm...Smartah, i'm a little confused by what that means....lol. Can you give us an example of how it would work. When you say theme, what do you mean? And we just (Atrl members) send in a song that fits that theme....

Hm.. well ok.

At the beginning of the redux, people sign up as a celebrity. For example:

smartah: Kelly Clarkson
xenajoxer03: Jesse McCartney
ADRIAN: P!nk
Sir Will: Rihanna
XTIANLOVESBRITNEY: Britney Spears
Fallen Fort Minor: Matisyahu
etc, until there are 12-24 people
(yes, I just got these examples from avatars)

And throughout the whole competition/redux you remain the same character. Each round there is a theme. The themes are the genre/type of music that should be chosen. For example: Country, Top 40, Songs from 1940s, Rock, songs by Kelly Clarkson, etc.

Each person will pick a song that goes along with their celebrity.

EXAMPLE:

The host chooses the theme of Country music, and everyone picks a country song that goes with their celebrity's voice.
Like so:
Smartah/Kelly Clarkson: Another Little Piece of My Heart - Faith Hill (or whoever sang it)
xenajoxer03/Jesse McCartney: I Want to Live - Josh Gracin
ADRIAN/Pink: Kerosene - Miranda Lambert
etc.

And the host will judge how well the person could sing the song (no one actually sings)
Then people from the forums will vote, and then someone is booted off. Then there is a new theme, and people pick songs, and there's judging and people vote again :)

Okay I'm up to it. I'm going to pick Jesse McCartney, (Might has well). C'mon people, pick your artist.

That doesn't sound like a bad idea, I'm up for it...

EDIT: I'll be Chester Bennington(Singer of Linkin Park) instead of Matisyahu because Matisyahu is a rapper and not a singer

The first theme is FREE CHOICE. Remember not to pick a song that has been sung by your singer in the past. (For example, Jesse McCartney could NOT pick Beautiful Soul, etc. Also, he couldn't sing Blackbird, because he's done it on the Live DVD).
