I take French at school, and I guess I can have a worth conversation. It's probably like French 101-104 for me, because I speak Spanish, and some of the words in French are cognates (to Spanish AND English), which makes it so much easier.

My native tongue is Filipino, which has similar cognates to Spanish. I took 6 years of Spanish. I'm thinking about minoring in Spanish, but I really want to learn French, too. What's cooler than learning 4 languages, right? :-*

That's really cool! I know Hebrew, too, but it only has a few cognates to English, can you say Banana? Anyways, French is a fun language, I think you should take it.

French isn't that hard, but you have to practice a lot to be able to understand a native speaker cause they talk really fast :-!

Learning foreign languages in college is REALLY hard. I had 4 years of Spanish in high school and always got A's then i decided to take Spanish in college and it was SO hard. I dunno if it was just my professor cause she was really bad or cause they told me i had to take Intermediate but i had forgotten everything from high school by that time and it was just too difficult for me :/

I think if you stick with the Beginning one you should be fine, languages can be fun just hopefully you get a cool professor :p

I speak french, not totally fluent but pretty good, and it is a very difficult language. I would recommend you take it but it is challenging. Mostly because all nouns are either masculine of femine and you have to memorize them and stuff. But it sounds really pretty!

Qui occupe le fromage?

Who cut the cheese?

I learned that from Freakazoid when I was kid.

I've been taking French for four years and it's probably going to be one of my two majors. Theres a part of me that wishes I took Spanish instead because half of Tucson speaks it, but at the same time I took French in the first place to make it easier to get the ---- out of here.

French is quite straightforward once you get the basic understanding of how things work as that way you can put things together without having to be taught them directly. I haven't practised it since school and have since forgotten (which is crappy), Italian was easier though as I remember when I took them both.
