View Full Version : iPod Question?
Departure 1/6/2006, 7:28 PM Can you take off songs from your ipod without deleting them. Like for instance, If I want to make a cd (mix) with the songs on my Ipod, is there a way to copy them to your computer so it's possible. Otherwise it's kind of lame to have an Ipod. Once you put music on there you can't take it off without deleting it. I wanted to make a mix the other day, but I couldn't get the songs off it. So I had to go through all my cds and copy one song by one song. Sucks.
SHADE 45 1/6/2006, 7:33 PM take the songs and make a playlist on iTunes, then put them on a cd and upload it again but not onto iTunes
You can make a playlist with the songs that you want on your iPod and the songs that you don't want on your iPod will stay in your library and not go in that playlist. That's what i do. Try this:
1)Plug in your iPod
2) Once you see your iPod as an option on the iTunes menus look at the bottom right conner
3)There should be a button that looks like your iPod, click it
4) From there you should be able to choose what playlists you want on your iPod, so if you have a playlist with only the songs you want on your iPod you can use that
I'm not very good at explaining things or giving instructions, so you might want to check the support section of apple.com

Mr.Hollywood 1/7/2006, 4:04 PM also you can just uncheak the songs in your iTunes you dont want on your iPod.
Departure 1/7/2006, 4:36 PM I just want to know if I can take songs off my Ipod. That's all. I don't want to put songs in a playlist or anything. Like I'm trying to drag my Ipod music to my Itunes folder but it doesn't let me. I try copying the songs, but no. I think this is dumb, because I have some songs on there that I haven't burned to a cd. And I really don't want to re buy those songs just so I can have a cd. I might eventually fiqure something out. Maybe If I delete a song it will go to my libarary. Who Knows?

I don't think it's possible. It has to be on Itunes. If you can figure a way to play the video on Itunes then your making way, but other wise it won't. You can't upload videos onto it from your computer. Only from Itunes. And I tried many times playing other videos I have and it won't play on Itunes.
iTunes is designed to prevent you from copying iPod music back to your computer. However, this program will let you do that:

It's shareware ($15) but should work long enough for you to get your music back on your computer without paying anything.

Hey, thanks. I will look at it. Can you buy this from a retailer store. I don't want to buy from the internet. Thanks so much.
I think the ephpod program allows you to do that too, and it's free. I don't know but I know my friends use it. www.ephpod.com
Hey, thanks. I will look at it. Can you buy this from a retailer store. I don't want to buy from the internet. Thanks so much. You can download a free edition from the page I linked that will allow you to use the program for 15 days without paying. After those 15 days, it stops working, but all of your music will be on your computer by then so it won't matter. Just click on the "Download - PC (1.0.6) (http://www.ipodsoft.com/index.php?/downloads/podplus)" link.

Departure 1/7/2006, 6:33 PM Would Best Buy offer something like this?
Would Best Buy offer something like this? There are 2 programs we just posted that you can download for free and take care of it right now. Don't go buy something just for this.
Master Shake 1/10/2006, 7:15 PM For you people who need to transcode videos to iPod format, the best program I have found is Videora, thanks to Gerry.

It should be able to help you.
Departure 1/12/2006, 2:33 PM I have another Question to ask?
Can you burn songs to a cd that you messed the volume with. For instance, I have some cds that are not your average kind of music. Music from Television shows, and the quality of the songs are quiet. I can have my volume cranked up all the way and it wouldn't be that loud. So I decided to burn the cds to my computer and mess with the volume so it's louder. Now that I did that, is there a way I can burn that fixed volume version to a cd, because I just burned two cds and they sound like the cd version even though I did mess with the sound quality. I don't think there is a way. Unless maybe you can take songs off your Ipod and then make a cd from that, because I have the better versions on there. Thanks.
No nothing is working. This sucks.
