GERI Halliwell is back in the arms of her ex-lover and father of her unborn baby, we can exclusively reveal.The former Spice Girl, 33, and scriptwriter Sacha Gervasi, 39, are trying to work out their differences for the sake of their child, due next spring.But we hear it's not all plain sailing between the pair who are trying to iron out their problems away from prying eyes, holed up in George Michael's LA mansion.A mutual pal tells us: "Geri and Sacha are back together and trying to work it out for the baby."It is very important to both of them that their child has both parents on the scene, so they are willing to go to any lengths to achieve this. But they have a very volatile relationship and are arguing quite a lot."Just last week they were supposed to meet friends for dinner in LA but had to cancel at the last minute because they were too emotional after a big row.Well, who can blame Geri, with all those hormones raging?She became close to George, 42, after the Spice Girls split in 1998 and this is not the first time he has come to her rescue.After the band went their separate ways George invited her to his home in the South of France. At the time Geri gushed: "George just became part of my life. Can you imagine how lucky that was for me? He really helped me. I don't know what I would have done without that guy. I was so lonely. I needed someone to give me a cuddle."But things all went a bit pear-shaped in 2001 after George - whose documentary A Different Story has its gala premiere next week - decided he wanted her out of his life.He dismissed Geri as "obsessed with hype" and said: "It's very difficult to maintain a relationship with a person who lives for the Press when all I want to do is run away from that."But thankfully the pair have since put their differences behind them and when George heard Geri needed a helping hand he immediately offered his LA house.A pal tells us: "George was thrilled when he heard about Geri's pregnancy. He thinks it's just what she needs to focus her energy on now."He knows she is having a difficult time with the father, so he offered up his house in LA for them to stay in while he is in the UK. He thinks it'll be a haven for them to sort out their differences in private. He really wants them to make it for the sake of the baby."Wonder if he'll be invited to be godfather after all his efforts....
