Do any of you like dubstep?
I haven't seen any discussion about this here.

Do you like any dubstep artists?

If not, you should listen to this

So are there any dubstep artists you like?

Let's discuss what major mainstream artist first toyed with it.

Anything now is Brostep.

If you want real dubstep, look to the originator coming out in the early 00s and UK ie Skream:

It sucks tbh.

I dislike a lot of it, unless I'm really drunk.

Freakshow has been my jam ever since I got Blackout.
But it's not too much of my thing, I do love the La Roux remix Skream (I think?) did with Going in for the kill.

I don't mind it in little bits, or in remixes. I like the occasional full-on dubstep song, but quite often, it's over-played because it's the latest trend, and quite often, it's flat out obnoxious (point in fact, in Equinox, the first video posted, I cannot STAND the whole "CALL 9-1-1 NOW!" ********. It actually wrecks the song by putting me right off.

I'm kinda mad it's starting to get popular tho but it's alright and I'm sick of seeing Britney stans saying Freakshow is dubstep just because Pitchfork said it, there's nothing in that song that has real dubstep.

Since Freakshow isn't really "dubstep," and it only incorporates elements of dub step, Britney technically isn't the first mainstream artist to use it. The Queen is.

Real, full blown dub step always has an average bpm of about 140...like this at :40:

BeOJDgAu4LE

It usually has those wobbly, dark synths also.

One of Brit's stans even admitted that Freakshow isn't dub step, it INCORPORATES it. Both songs only INCORPORATE it. One's from 2001, and the other's from 2007. You must deal.

I'm still trying to understand the concept of what dubstep is. I can't easily spot it from a random track.

I don't have verbal definitions for it as my English is quite limited. All you need to do is spending some time at a dubstep night of a club with decent sound systems. It won't take long before you can catch the common features and repetitions in it.

---------------------------------------

Btw, I don't use dubstep outside clubs. It sounds awful without superb sound systems (e.g. on radio).
