Taylor Swift was left "upset and hurt" following her split from Jake Gyllenhaal, according to sources.

The celebrity couple, who began dating in October, broke up shortly before Christmas, allegedly due to Gyllenhaal's reluctance to enter into another high-profile relationship after his split from Reese Witherspoon.

An insider has now apparently told US Weekly that Gyllenhaal chose to dump Swift over the phone - a move which left the popstar feeling "really burned".

The insider said: "Taylor is really upset and hurt. She doesn't know what she did for him to just put a stop to it. She feels really burned by him."

A separate source, who allegedly spotted Swift at last week's People's Choice Awards, added: "She was not her usual bubbly, over-animated self. She didn't eat anything, seemed very sad and definitely wasn't having a good time."
